Mr and Mrs McAdam
I met Lauren a couple of years ago through her family, Catherine and Hannah who own “The Wedding Room” in Scarborough. Lauren was helping out wearing wedding dress at a Wedding Fayre. She joked around that she wouldn’t be getting married anytime soon and that she got to wear the dresses anyway. A couple of years later Lauren contacted me to let me know that she and Stuart had got engaged and she knew the date that she was wanting to get married but hadn’t booked anywhere to get married at but she was dead set on having me photograph their wedding. In the next couple of weeks Lauren contacted me to let me know that she was going to get married at Sandburn Hall. Over the next two years Lauren and I kept contact to make sure all the details of their big day were still correct and discussed different ideas for their day.
September 6th 2014 // Wedding Day
I met Lauren and all her bridesmaids in the morning at a lovely log cabin near to Sandburn Hall. I could tell it was going to be a fantastic day, as the moment I got there I was greeted by lots of smiling friendly faces 🙂 I knew from then on that everybody there was going to be up for some fun. After photographing the bride getting ready, I then went to meet Stuart and all his Ushers. They where all very smartly dressed and looked the part. Lauren had secretly told me that Stuart wasn’t in to photographs and that he didn’t really smile for them. I knew the best way would be to take a back seat and photograph the groomsmen naturally and just let the images come to me. I like to photograph this way as you normally get the best results when the wedding party are just enjoying the day. The service at Sandburn Hall was lovely. There were a lots of teary eyes from women and men 😉 but everyone could see how in “love” the new Mr and Mrs McAdam are in. Straight after the service we all went out for some group pictures in between the showers. Nothing could dampen this day though as it was time to get some “Bride and Groom” images. Lauren was her usual fun outgoing self and Stuart had relaxed and there was no stopping the two of them. We got some fantastic images. It was now time to go back in to photographing the day in a more natural way and just letting the day unfold and capturing it. I had a great day and I look forward to going back to Sandburn Hall again. Thank you again Lauren and Stuart for choosing me to photograph your big day. It was a pleasure. Darren – Studio41
